The next two tournaments on the LPGA are Canadian Pacific Women’s Open and Manulife LPGA Classic, so lets get to packing! Packing isn’t fun much less it’s actually quite stressful for most people but for us tour players it’s a weekly thing to do. Important key is to pack rather thoroughly since it all has to fit in a suitcase, but we also have to consider packing everything because golfers have to be prepared for Fore Seasons (haha get it?)! However I’m blessed to have a clothing sponsor, Adidas, providing me with absolutely everything I need or may need for any possible circumstances on the golf course. Want to see how I packed for these next two weeks? Well keep reading!…
Adidas Climaproof Golf Rain Gear is the first thing in my suitcase since rain is extremely unpredictable, so we’re better off being preparing for the worst and hoping for the best right?! Just a heads up, this Adidas rain gear (pictured below) is one of the best waterproof wear in the market because I’ve put it under a faucet and it still stayed dry. Yes, I tested it. Now because we’re headed to Canada in late August it’s guaranteed to be cold few of the days so I make sure to pack the G-Tech Hand Warmer. G-Tech hand warmer, in my opinion, is one of the best inventions since you can snap it around your waist and have it on you during your round. You are able to warm your hands while walking and it also doesn’t interfere with your golf swing! I find this gadget a necessity more than useful especially in cold climates.
Packing my entire closet would be ideal but since the goal is to fit everything in a suitcase there’s an extent to what I can bring with me. I learned to capitalize on the clothing choices so I wouldn’t have to pack so much. Since Adidas golf has great colors and patterns that compliment each other it’s easy to mix and match them to make sure you always have a “fresh” look! I always pack black and white tops and bottoms because obviously they match everything. I tend to pick two colors that will designate the main color theme for the trip so it’s easier to minimize the outfit choices. Colors for this particular trip are red and navy, red because we’re going to be in Canada, navy because Adidas has adorable navy outfits (duh), also on the plus side, red and navy go together. When you’re traveling to places like Canada it’s a must to pack vests, sweaters and jackets so don’t forget those!
Besides clothing, I never forget to pack my basic workout and stretching equipment. My duffel bag always includes: SKLZ barrel roller, SKLZ massage bar, SKLZ mini bands, SKLZ jump rope, neck block, stretch strap, resistance band, mini soccer ball and a lacrosse ball. All these are being used everyday for my basic “in hotel room” training, stretching and rehabbing, which I will write about later so definitely stay tuned.
Passport, Laptop, bag of chargers, emergency medicine pack, notebook and pens are in my carry on backpack no matter what. Oh and I never forget the “Baby Proof” headphones so called Beats because they are the best noise cancelling headphones ever. A baby can be screaming or crying sitting right next to you and you won’t hear a peep! It’s truly amazing, thank you Dr. Dre.
Because these tournaments are in Canada I specially packed gifts for our lovely Canadian fans! As some of you may know, I’m sponsored by Gretzky Hockey School so they have provided me with bracelets and pucks to give out! The Gretzky’s are like family to me and I feel privileged to wear their name in Canada. Come out and support the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open this August 25th-29th. If you find me and say “Gretzky” you’ll be handed one of their bracelets! If you’re not in Canada then spread the word to your fellow Canadian friends to find me this week in Calgary or next week in Waterloo for Manulife LPGA Classic!
That’s all for “Packing for Canada” but next week there will be a post about how I pack my golf bag! Thank you loves for reading Fore Seasons Blog!
